GATHERING FOR WOMENS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE HOMELESS WOMEN ON THE MONTEREY PENINSULA SUPPORTIVE RESOURCES AND A CARING COMMUNITY. GFW PROVIDES THE CARE AND SUPPORT A WOMAN NEEDS TO REMAIN SAFE AND HEALTHY AS SHE SEEKS A MORE SUSTAINABLE AND SECURE FUTURE.

GFW OPERATES A DAY CENTER FOR HOMELESS AND HOUSING INSECURE WOMEN (GUESTS) ON THE MONTEREY PENINSULA. WOMEN RECEIVE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES INCLUDING WARM MEALS, HOT SHOWERS, CLOTHING AND PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS AND CAN TAKE ENRICHMENT CLASSES. ALL SERVICES ARE CENTERED AROUND CASE MANAGEMENT TO ASSESS EACH INDIVIDUALS NEEDS AND TO CONNECT EACH GUEST WITH OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS. IN 2021, GFW STAYED OPEN THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC, PROVIDING SERVICES TO 371 INDIVIDUALS INCLUDING 11,814 MEALS, 1,279 HOT SHOWERS, 1,273 VISITS TO THE CLOTHES CLOSET, AND 1,197 CASE MANAGEMENT SESSIONS. FIFTEEN WOMEN ENTERED AFFORDABLE HOUSING THROUGH PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS.
