THE MISSION OF TAKE PAWS RESCUE IS TO MEET THE MORAL OBLIGATION TO PROTECT AND SAVE THE LIVES OF PETS IN NEED OF RESCUE IN LOUISIANA. TAKE PAWS RESCUE ENACTS THIS MISSION BY PULLING PETS FROM RURAL AND HIGH KILL SHELTERS AND PREPARING THEM FOR TRANSPORT TO FOSTERS, ADOPTERS, PARTNER RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS, AND OTHER SHELTERS AROUND THE U.S. IN NEED OF ADOPTABLE PETS.

TAKE PAWS FACILITATES THE FOSTER, REHABILITATION, AND ADOPTION OF ANIMALS. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH A VAST NETWORK OF ANIMAL SHELTERS ACROSS LOUISIANA, TEXAS AND THE GULF SOUTH REGION THAT HAVE LITTLE OR NO CAPACITY OR FUNDING AND OFFERS TO TAKE ANIMALS THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE PUT TO DEATH. TAKE PAWS ALSO PROVIDES EMERGENCY SERVICES DURING WEATHER EVENTS AND DISASTERS ACROSS THE STATE. IN 2020 WE PURCHASED A FACILITY WHERE WE CARE FOR OVER 20 ANIMALS AT ANY GIVEN TIME. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO HAS AN ESTABLISHED FOSTER FAMILY NETWORK OF OVER 200 FAMILIES WHO ASSIST IN FOSTERING WHILE THE RESCUE PERFORMS DUE DILIGENCE ON POTENTIAL ADOPTERS, OVERSEES ANY NECESSARY MEDICAL TREATMENT, AND SECURES A FOREVER HOME FOR EACH ANIMAL. THIS YEAR, TAKE PAWS WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ADOPTION OF MORE THAN 1500 ANIMALS, BRINGING THE TOTAL TO OVER 8,000 SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN JANUARY OF 2015.
