COMMERCIAL SEXUAL EXPLOITATION - INDIA VIETNAM KENYA AND UGANDA. GFEMS FUNDS PARTNERS TO COMBAT COMMERCIAL SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN IN MULTIPLE COUNTRIES. KEY EFFORTS INCLUDE REFORMING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM WITH A TRAUMA-INFORMED AND VICTIM-FRIENDLY LENS PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE AFTERCARE TO VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE MARKET-BASED JOBS THAT CAN PREVENT VICTIMS AND OTHER HIGH-RISK INDIVIDUALS FROM BEING TRAFFICKED AND CONDUCTING BEHAVIOR CHANGE CAMPAIGNS REDUCE THE RISK OF TRAFFICKING. OUR PARTNER IN VIETNAM LED THE TESTING OF A COMPREHENSIVE MODEL FOR ANTI-TRAFFICKING THAT CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY REPLICATED IN NEW GEOGRAPHIES. SUCCESSFUL IMPLANTATION OF THE NATIONAL REFERRAL MECHANISM MAKING CRITICAL RECOVERY SERVICES AVAILABLE TO SURVIVORS. GFEMS WORKED WITH A PARTNER ENTITY TO STRENGTHEN THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM BY BUILDING GOVERNMENT CAPACITY TO PROSECUTE CASES OF TRAFFICKING CONVICT TRAFFICKERS AND ENSURE VICTIMS' LEGAL SUPPORT. GFEMS PARTNERS WORKED WITH HOTELS IN INDIA AND VIETNAM TO PLACE GRADUATES IN SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY JOBS. IN ADDITIONAL TO DOCUMENTING THE PROGRAM TO INFORM POTENTIAL SCALE-UP EFFORTS WITHIN THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR GFEMS IS DEVELOPING A "BLUEPRINT" FOR REPLICATING MARKET-BASED SURVIVOR EMPLOYMENT IN OTHER INDUSTRIES. OVERSEAS LABOR RECRUITMENT AND CONSTRUCTION - VIETNAM THE PHILIPPINES KENYA INDIA AND UGANDA. RECOGNIZING THAT MIGRATION WILL CONTINUE TO BE A CRITICAL PATH FOR MANY WORKERS FROM DEVELOPING COUNTRIES GFEMS IS BUILDING SAFE MIGRATION CORRIDORS THROUGH ETHICAL RECRUITMENT AND STRENGTHENED GOVERNMENT RESPONSE TO ABUSE. ADDITIONALLY GFEMS IS FUNDING SUPPORT AND REHABILITATION SERVICES FOR MIGRANT WORKERS WHO ARE VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING AND LABOR EXPLORATION. GFEMS IS ALSO FUNDING CAPACITY BUILDING TO IMPROVE LAWS AND BETTER IMPLEMENTATION OF EXISTING LEGISLATION THAT REDUCES THE VULNERABILITY OF MIGRANTS. GFEMS IS FOCUSED ON EXPANDING SUSTAINABLE ETHICAL RECRUITMENT MODELS INCLUDING SETTING UP AN ETHICAL RECRUITMENT AGENCY THAT CAN PLACE COMPETITIVE PRESSURE ON OTHER RECRUITERS TO REFORM PRACTICES. GFEMS IS FUNDING THE CREATION OF A DIGITAL CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THAT ENABLES PHILIPPINES GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO MORE EFFECTIVELY RESPOND TO CASES OF MODERN SLAVERY WHEN DETECTED. THE PROGRAM HAS ALSO ESTABLISHED AN INTERAGENCY TASK FORCE ON FORCED LABOR OF OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS OFWS TO ENHANCE GOVERNMENT CAPACITY TO PROSECUTE AND CONVICT TRAFFICKERS OF OFWS REDUCING THE IMPUNITY WITH WHICH TRAFFICKERS OPERATE. FORCED LABOR IS A PERSISTENT CHALLENGE IN BRAZIL'S COFFEE SUPPLY CHAIN - THE STATE OF MINAIS GERAIS THE HIGHEST VOLUME COFFEE PRODUCING STATE IN THE COUNTRY CONSISTENTLY LEADS BRAZIL IN FORCED LABOR CASES. IN RESPONSE GFEMS INVESTED IN A START-UP PROGRAM FOR A ROBUST ANTI-TRAFFICKING PROGRAM. THE PROJECT WORKS BY DEVELOPING TOOLS TO ADDRESS GAPS IN THE EXISTING LANDSCAPE- A WORKERS LEVEL GRIEVANCE SYSTEM THAT OFFERS REMEDIATION ON FARMS A NETWORK OF LEGAL AID CLINICS FOCUSED ON SLAVE LABOR CASES TRAINING FOR SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PUBLIC SERVICE. THIS WORK IS DONE IN CLOSE COORDINATION WITH A WIDE-RANGING BODY OF STAKEHOLDERS PARTICULARLY WITH WORKERS LIVED EXPERIENCE.
