THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO BRING TOGETHER THE DIVERSE GROUP OF PEOPLE TO BUILD AND SUSTAIN HEALTHY COMMUNITY AND ENRICHED LIVES. OUR GOAL IS TO SERVE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THOSE WE SERVE. HEALTH SUPPORT SERVICES AND SENIOR WELLNESS THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON SERVING INDIVIDUALS AND AMERICAN FAMILIES TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF UNDERSERVED, MULTICULTURAL, ETHNIC, AND MINORITY POPULATIONS BY CONDUCTING FREE HEALTH FAIRS, COMMUNITY OUTREACH, AND HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAMS. ADG ALONG WITH A COALITION OF PARTNERS ACROSS THE COMMUNITY HEALTH AND MEDICAL SPECTRUM IS ORGANIZES COMMUNITY MEDICAL CLINICS FOCUSING ON PRIMARY CARE WITH FREE OR SLIDING SCALE FEES FOR THE VULNERABLE, UNINSURED, ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED AND, UNDERPRIVILEGED INCLUDING MINORITIES, IMMIGRANTS, REFUGEES AND ASYLEES PRIMARILY IN MONTGOMERY, HOWARD, AND PRINCE GEORGE COUNTIES IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND. THE PROGRAM ALSO ORGANIZES DENTAL SERVICES TO PROVIDE AN EDUCATIONAL AND INTERACTIVE EVENT TO PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY TO GIVE ACCESS TO BASIC PREVENTIVE DENTAL SERVICE IN ADDITION TO INFORMATION ON HEALTH AND WELLNESS SERVICES PROVIDED BY AMERICAN DIVERSITY GROUP. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, AMERICAN DIVERSITY GROUP ADMINISTERS AND OVERSEES VARIOUS COMMUNITY FUNDED PROGRAMS SPONSORED BY LOCAL GOVERNMENTS BASED IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND; WHEREBY COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND FAITH- BASED ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDE LINGUISTICALLY AND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE SERVICES TO THE DIVERSE ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER (AAPI) COMMUNITIES. THE PROGRAM HELPS LOCAL GOVERNMENTS CARRY OUT PROGRAMS IN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, SENIOR WELLNESS, AND/OR HEALTH, AND SOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES. PARTICIPANTS ARE PROVIDED PRIMARY CARE SERVICES FOR HEALTH MAINTENANCE OF CHRONIC CONDITIONS, PREVENTIVE SCREENINGS AND FREE PRESCRIPTION SERVICES FOR INDIGENT SENIORS. AS PART OF THE PROGRAM, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO SETS UP DEDICATED INFORMATION AND RESOURCE KIOSKS FOR SENIORS WHERE THEY CAN OBTAIN COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION ABOUT LOCAL SERVICES AVAILABLE TO THEM. TRAINED STAFF ASSISTS SENIORS IN UNDERSTANDING AND ACCESSING VARIOUS RESOURCES, INCLUDING HEALTHCARE FACILITIES, TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS, SOCIAL PROGRAMS, SUPPORT GROUPS AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES VACCINATION SERVICES, SPECIALTY CARE SERVICES, COUNSELING SERVICES, REFERRAL SERVICES FOR BASIC LABS, IMAGING AND HOSPITAL; HEALTH EDUCATION (FOR EXAMPLE DIABETES PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT, PERSONAL HYGIENE TO PREVENT DISEASE TRANSMISSION, AND WELLNESS THROUGH YOGA TRAINING AND DIET FOR OBESITY CONTROL) AND ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES TO ENSURE ACCESSIBILITY FOR REFUGEES AND ASYLEES, TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, AND LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS FLUENT DIFFERENT LANGUAGES TO FACILITATE EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION DURING MEDICAL VISITS.
