CULPEPER HOSPITAL AUXILIARY HAS MANY ACTIVE AUXILARY VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTING OVER 34,000 HOURS OF SERVICE ANNUALLY. THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO APPROXIMATELY 17 FULL-TIME VOLUNTEERS. VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE SERVICES IN A VARIETY OF AREAS INCLUDING THE ADMITTING DEPARTMENT AND RECEPTION DESK, SURGICAL WAITING, ASSISTING PATIENTS IN MEDICAL AND RADIATION ONCOLOGY, AND SUPPORT FOR THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. THE AUXILIARY VOLUNTEERS ALSO PROVIDE ON-GOING SUPPORT TO THE FREE CLINIC, WHICH PROVIDES MEDICAL CARE AND PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS TO CITIZENS OF CULPEPER THAT DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE OR THE MEANS TO PAY FOR HEALTH CARE.
