GOTVIN 2021 ADVANCE CAROLINA USED A LARGE PORTION OF THE YEAR PREPARING VOTERS FOR THE VARIOUS CHANGES IN ELECTION ADMINISTRATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. DUE TO THE IRREGULARITIES IN THE 2020 CENSUS, THERE WERE MAJOR CHALLENGES WITH FINALIZING THE DATES FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS ACROSS THE STATE. ADVANCE CAROLINA SPECIFICALLY WORKED TO EDUCATE THESE RESIDENTS AND PRODUCED PRINT AND ONLINE MATERIALS TO ENSURE MISINFORMATION WAS NOT A THREAT TO TURNOUT.
COUNTY TABLE/PARTNER ORGANIZINGIN THE MIDST OF THE PANDEMIC THE FEDERAL RELEASE OF STIMULUS FUNDS PROVIDED RESOURCES FOR COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE TRADITIONALLY GONE OVERLOOKED. THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN IMPLEMENTATION VARIED COUNTY BY COUNTY AND WITH THAT CAME THE NECESSARY TO PRODUCE PROGRAMS WITH OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO UNPACK THE PLAN. WE ALSO CONDUCTED EVENTS TO SUPPORT THE EXTENSION OF EVICTION MORATORIUMS.
ISSUE BASED ADVOCACYANOTHER WAY OF FULFILLING OUR PRIMARY PURPOSE AS AN ORGANIZATION TO ASSIST BLACK RESIDENTS ACROSS NORTH CAROLINA BY CONNECTING ISSUES IN THEIR COMMUNITY TO THE POLITICAL PROCESS. IN 2021 ADVANCE CAROLINA PRODUCED SEVERAL PROGRAMS TO HELP RESIDENTS UNDERSTAND THE POLITICAL CONTEXT AND ELECTED OFFICES THAT IMPACT THEIR EVERYDAY LIVES. IN 2021 THE ISSUES OF ENVIRONMENTAL RACISM, HEALTHCARE, HOUSINES, EDUCATION, CRIMINAL JUSTICE ARE RESEARCHED AND RESPONDED TO BY OUR ORGANIZATION.
