FAIRFAX COUNTY CONVENTION AND VISITORS CORPORATION IS THE OFFICIAL DESTINATION MARKETING ORGANIZATION FOR FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA. IT IS OUR MISSION TO MARKET, PROMOTE AND SELL FAIRFAX COUNTY AS A PREFERRED DESTINATION TO TRAVEL TO AND VISIT TARGETING BUSINESS TRAVELERS, SPORTS GROUPS AND LEISURE TRAVELERS, BOTH INDEPENDENT AND GROUP. WE DO THIS BY PROVIDING INFORMATION ON LOCAL, HISTORICAL, CULTURAL, SHOPPING, CULINARY AND RECREATIONAL ATTRACTIONS AS WELL AS HOTELS. WE DO THIS TO GROW THE ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COUNTY AND TO ENRICH THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ITS RESIDENTS.
IN 2022, WE RECEIVED A GRANT FROM THE VIRGINIA TOURISM CORPORATION, THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA'S TOURISM MARKETING AGENCY, FROM THE AMERICAN RESCUE PROGRAM ACT, TOTALING $4.17 MILLION, TO BE USED IN BRAND NEW MARKETING, SALES AND PROMOTION INITIATIVES IN AN EFFORT TO RECOVER FROM THE COVID PANDEMIC. THIS GRANT MUST BE SPENT BY JUNE OF 2024. IN THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023 HALF OF THE GRANT WAS UTILIZED, WITH THE LAST HALF SCHEDULED FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2024.
