THE GLOBAL LPG PARTNERSHIP ASSISTS DEVELOPING COUNTRIES TO PLAN, FINANCE AND IMPLEMENT NATIONAL-SCALE AVAILABILITY AND USE OF LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS TO HELP PREVENT THE 4 MILLION ANNUAL DEATHS, SEVERE FOREST LOSS, AND VAST IMPACT ON WOMEN'S AND CHILDREN'S LABOR TIME CAUSED BY SOCIETAL DEPENDENCE ON SOLID FUELS FOR COOKING.

GLPGP DESIGNS, FINANCES AND IMPLEMENTS LARGE-SCALE SUSTAINABLE TRANSITIONS TO CLEAN HOUSEHOLD FUEL TO REPLACE DEPENDENCE ON SOLID FUEL, PARTICULARLY IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA AND SOUTHERN ASIA. GLPGP COMPLETED A MAJOR STUDY FOR KFW, THE GERMAN DEVELOPMENT BANK, ENTITLED RWANDA NATIONAL LPG MASTER PLAN.ON JUNE 1, 2021, GLPGP, WITH ITS SISTER ORGANIZATION, BIOLPG LLC, EACH SIGNED A LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THE GAS TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE (NOW DOING BUSINESS AS GTI ENERGY)TO COMMERCIALIZE THE DEVELOPMENT OF BIOLPG USING ITS COOL LPG TECHNOLOGY AND TO RAISE SIGNIFICANT FUNDING FOR ITS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT. GLPGP WAS FINANCED BY THE UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR WORK ON A PRE-MASTER PLAN AND BY THE UNITED NATIONS CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR WORK ON AN LPG MICROFINANCE PROJECT AND DISTRIBUTOR/MARKETER TRAINING, IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO.GLPGP WORKED ON A CONTRACT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL TO TEST, THROUGH A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL, THE EFFICIENCY AND ACCEPTABILITY OF GAS-EFFICIENT POTS FOR HOUSEHOLD USE IN KENYA AND TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF RELATED DATA.ON JUNE 17, 2021, THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH (NIH) AGREED TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO PURSUE THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE FOR CLEAN COOKING TO REDUCE AIR POLLUTION.
