HLSIO CONTINUED WORKING WITH THE SCIENTIFIC FIRM SWIMMER'S ITCH SOLUTIONS, LLC TO EXECUTE TRAP AND RELEASE PROGRAMS UNDER ITS DIRECTION. PROCESSES WERE STREAMLINED AND MORE PRECISELY TARGETED TO REDUCE ONGOING COSTS WHILE CONTINUING TO ALLOW THE SWIMMER'S ITCH INFECTION LEVELS TO REMAIN LOW.
HLSIO AGAIN WORKED WITH THE COALITION OF MICHIGAN LAKES TO FIGHT SWIMMER'S ITCH. THE MISIP APPROPRIATION OF 250,000 WAS USED FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND OFFSETTING LAKE ASSOCIATION COSTS FOR CONTROLLING THE INCIDENCE OF SI CASES. FOR 2019 8,500 WAS PAID TO SCIENTIFIC FIRMS BY STATE ALLOCATIONS FOR SUCH RELOCATION WORK.
HLSIO ONCE AGAIN HIRED A LICENSED TRAP AND RELOCATION FIRM TO RELOCATE THE CANADA GOOSE FROM HIGGINS LAKE.
