LIVE & LEARN EMPOWERS WOMEN TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF GENERATIONAL POVERTY THROUGH ASSISTING WOMEN TO ENROLL IN CERTIFICATION AND DEGREE PROGRAMS, COACHING WOMEN TO DEVELOP JOB READINESS SKILLS, APPLY FOR JOBS, AND HOLDING LITERACY WORKSHOPS.

IN 2023, LIVE & LEARN PROVIDED ONGOING SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR 162 ADULT WOMEN LIVING IN POVERTY IN MARICOPA COUNTY. THROUGH OUR PROGRAM, THESE WOMEN ESTABLISHED AND PURSUED EDUCATIONAL, CAREER, AND FINANCIAL GOALS. OUR SUPPORT ALLOWED 127 WOMEN TO ENROLL IN CERTIFICATION AND DEGREE PROGRAMS; 71% WERE THE FIRST IN THEIR FAMILY TO PURSUE POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION. OVER 12 MONTHS, 162 WOMEN RECEIVED ONGOING, 1:1 COACHING TO DEVELOP JOB READINESS SKILLS, APPLY FOR JOBS, INTERVIEW, AND SECURE AND RETAIN FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT. WE HOSTED 26 FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOPS TAILORED TO THE NEEDS OF WOMEN IN POVERTY. DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED TO WOMEN FOR TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING, AND CHILDCARE TO ENSURE THEIR STABILITY AS THEY PURSUED THEIR EDUCATION AND A CAREER.
