SOR GRANT VEGAS STRONGER HAS BEEN GRANTED TO THE STATE OPIOD RESPONSE GRANT, A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO TACKLE THE OPIOID CRISIS. THE INITIATIVE FOCUSES ON EXPANDING ACCESS TO MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT, MINIMILIZING UNMET TREATMENT NEEDS, AND LOWERING OPIOID OVERDOSE-RELATED FATALITIES. IT ACHIEVES THESE GOALS BY IMPLEMENTING COMPREHENSIVE PREVENTION, TREATMENT, AND RECOVERY ACTIVITIES TAILORED TO ADDRESS OPIOID USE AND DISORDER (OUD), ENCOMPASSING PRESCRIPTION OPIOIDS, HEROIN, AS WELL AS ILLICIT FENTANYL AND FENTANYL ANALOGS. ILLICIT FENTANYL AND FENTANYL ANALOGS.


AOT GRANT THE GRANT AWARDED TO VEGAS STRONGER FOR ITS ASSISTED OUPATIENT TREATMENT (AOT) PROGRAM ENTAILS THE INITATION OF LEGAL PETITIONS IN LOCAL COURTS, COMPLELLING INDIVIDUALS WITH SEVERE MENTAL ILLNESS (SMI) TO UNDERGO AND ADHERE TO COMMUNITY-BASED TREATMENT FOR A DESIGNATED DURATION. THE AOT PROGRAM ALIGNS WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS OUTLINED IN SENATE BILL 70 AND IS DESIGNED TO STREAMLINE THE PROVISION OF COMMUNITY-BASED OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT SERVICES TO THE INDIVIDUALS WITH SMI WHO ARE MANDATED BY COURT ORDERS, AS AUTHORIZED BY STATE MENTAL HEALTH STATUTES.
