GPSN IS A NON-PROFIT INTERMEDIARY ORGANIZATION EXCLUSIVELY FOCUSED ON IMPROVING LOS ANGELES PUBLIC EDUCATION. GPSN ENVISIONS A PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM IN LOS ANGELES THAT PREPARES ALL STUDENTS TO SUCCEED IN SCHOOL AND TO LIVE THRIVING ADULT LIVES. GUIDED BY THIS VISION, OUR MISSION IS TO BRING TOGETHER THE LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY TO CATALYZE THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM SO THAT STUDENTS OF COLOR AND STUDENTS LIVING IN POVERTY GAIN THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES TO LEAD THRIVING ADULT LIVES.

QUALITY SEAT GROWTH:OUR QUALITY SEAT GROWTH PROGRAM IS FOCUSED ON INCREASING THE NUMBER OF QUALITY SEATS IN LOS ANGELES. WE INVEST IN THE (1) REPLICATION OF QUALITY SCHOOLS (2) MERGER OF LOWER PERFORMING SCHOOLS INTO QUALITY SCHOOL MODELS AND (3) IMPROVEMENT OF SCHOOLS ("LIFTING TO GREAT") CLOSE TO OUR QUALITY BAR CRITERIA. WE ALSO SUPPORT QUALITY SCHOOLS BY CONVENING THEM TO COLLABORATE AND IDENTIFY SCALABLE BEST PRACTICES FOR IMPROVING ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS.


COLLECTIVE ACTION INITIATIVE:OUR COLLECTIVE ACTION INITIATIVE INVESTS IN BROADENING AND DIVERSIFYING THE ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGED IN ADVOCACY FOR SYSTEMIC CHANGE IN THE LOS ANGELES PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. IN ADDITION TO ADVOCACY, WE ALSO SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS IN THEIR EARNED AND SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS. A SMALL PORTION OF THE PROGRAM ALSO FUNDS ONLINE PUBLICATIONS TO FACILITATE THEIR GREATER AND/OR DEEPER COVERAGE OF LOS ANGELES PUBLIC EDUCATION TOPICS AND ISSUES.


EDUCATION RECOVERY: THE EDUCATION RECOVERY FUND SUPPORTS ORGANIZATIONS AND INITIATIVES THAT EXPAND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LAUSD STUDENTS. IN ADDITION, WE MANAGE AN INTEGRATED NETWORK OF PARTNERS AND FACILITATE COLLABORATION TO INCREASE ACCESS TO AND IMPROVE QUALITY OF OUT OF SCHOOL TIME OPPORTUNITIES, SUCH AS SUMMER AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS.
