TO PROVIDE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER PROGRAMS TO EMPOWER IMMIGRANT WOMEN TO OBTAIN MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT OR PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION IN NYC. TO OFFER A SAFE, INCLUSIVE SPACE WHERE IMMIGRANT WOMEN CAN BUILD COMMUNITY AND SHARE THEIR STORIES.

NWNY'S KEY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES INCLUDE THE LEAD, WE SPEAK WE LEAD, AND BRIDGE TO LEAD WORKSHOP SERIES, WHICH EQUIP PARTICIPANTS WITH ESSENTIAL JOB READINESS SKILLS AND A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE US WORKPLACE CULTURE. COMPLEMENTING THESE CORE TRAININGS, COMPANY SESSIONS, CAREER FAIRS, AND OTHER COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS PROVIDE PRACTICE, NETWORKING, AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES WITH PARTNER COMPANIES. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE EXPANDED OUR FOCUS TO HIGH-GROWTH SECTORS, INCLUDING A CLEAN ENERGY PROJECT THAT COMBINES CAREER EXPLORATION, SOFT SKILLS TRAINING, AND HANDS-ON EXPOSURE TO EMPLOYERS AND TRAINING PROVIDERS IN THE CLEAN ENERGY INDUSTRY.


NWNY'S COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING INCLUDES COMMUNITY EDUCATION WORKSHOPS, COMMUNITY MIXERS, DISCUSSION CIRCLES, AND A MOMS SUPPORT GROUP, ALL DESIGNED TO PROVIDE IMMIGRANT WOMEN WITH ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESOURCES. THESE PROGRAMS FOSTER A SAFE, INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR COMMUNITY BUILDING, SUPPORT, AND THE EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCES. KEY AREAS OF FOCUS INCLUDE FINANCIAL LITERACY, MENTAL HEALTH, AND OVERALL WELL-BEING, HELPING PARTICIPANTS NAVIGATE CHALLENGES AND BUILD RESILIENCE.
