DREAMBUILDERS, PEACEBUILDERS, AND HOPEBUILDERS MENTORING PROGRAMS PROVIDE SMALL GROUP MENTORING FOR GRADES PRE-K THROUGH 9 FIVE DAYS WEEKLY. DREAMBUILDERS CHILDREN'S PROGRAM BUILDS SKILLS AND CASTS VISION FOR CAREER THROUGH SUMMER AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR GRADES K-4. IN 2023, DREAMBUILDERS SERVED 69 CHILDREN WITH SAFE HAVEN, STEAM ENRICHMENTS, ACADEMIC SUPPORT, FIELD TRIPS AND MENTOR OUTINGS. PEACEBUILDERS JUNIOR HIGH PROGRAMUSES TRUSTED RELATIONSHIPS, CITY EXPLORATION, AND ACTIVISMTO BUILD PEACE WITH SELF AND OTHERS, SERVING 87 JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS. R CITY'S HOPEBUILDERS PROGRAM PROVIDED INDIVIDUALIZED ANTI-VIOLENCE MENTORING SERVICES TO 20 YOUTH EXPERIENCING EFFECTS OF PAST VICTIMIZATION. ADDITIONALLY, FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBORS OF R CITY'S YOUTH MENTEES WERE INVITED TO 24 COMMUNITY-BUILDING EVENTS, SERVING 2,330 ATTENDEES.


CITYBUILDERS APPRENTICESHIPS TRAIN YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS AGES 12-24 IN WORKPLACE SKILLS AND PERSEVERANCE THROUGH THE TRADE OF TUCKPOINTING. CITYBUILDERS OPERATES IN TWO COMPONENTS: CLASSROOM TRAINING, FOR WHICH YOUTH EARN AN EDUCATIONAL STIPEND, AND HANDS-ON COMMUNITY SERVICE. IN 2023, R CITY APPRENTICED 67 TEENS IN THE MASONRY SKILL OF TUCKPOINTING ("HARAMBEE" PROGRAM), PROVIDING SLIDING-SCALE TUCKPOINTING TO LOCAL HOMEOWNERS AND PARTNERS. ADDITIONAL PARTICIPANTS SCREENPRINTED CLOTHING (7 APPRENTICES), LEARNED HEATING, VENTILATION, AND AIR CONDITIONING (8 APPRENTICES), OR SERVED AS AIDES WITHIN THE DREAMBUILDERS CHILDREN'S PROGRAM (13 APPRENTICES). $82,214 IN YOUTH STIPENDS WAS PAID DIRECTLY BY R CITY TO APPRENTICES, AND HARAMBEE APPRENTICES PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 8,859 HANDS-ON SERVICE HOURS.


SUCCESSBUILDERS SCHOLARSHIPSMITIGATE FINANCIAL BARRIERS TO SUCCESS FOR POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS WHO HAVE GRADUATED FROM RIVER CITY COMMUNITY CHURCH OR RIVER CITY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CENTER. IN 2023, R CITY AWARDED $17,558IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO ELEVENSCHOLARS, AS WELL AS LINKING YOUNG ADULTS TO CAREER TRAINING, AFFORDABLE HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES, AND ONGOING MENTORING.
