HEATWAVE OF FLORIDA ACCEPTS YOUTH 12-21 FOR EDUCATION IN MUSIC AND THE MARCHING ARTS. WE INSTRUCT OUR MEMBERS WHO PRACTICE EXTENSIVELY AND THEN PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY EVENTS, BUT MOSTLY REGIONAL AND NATIONAL COMPETITIONS SANCTIONED BY DRUM CORP INTERNATIONAL. IN A POST COVID ENVIRONMENT THAT SAW OTHER LARGER CORPS UNABLE TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO IT'S MEMBERS, HEAT WAVE OF FLORIDA PROUDLY EDUCATED DOZENS OF YOUTH, FIELDED AND TOURED A SANCTIONED DRUM CORPS. OVERCOMING THE ENVIRONMENT PROVIDED AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AND TREMENDOUS GROWTH FOR OUR STUDENTS.
THROUGH THE SOLICITATION OF DONATIONS AND PERFORMANCES BY THE CORPS, THE ORGANIZATION WAS ABLE TO SETTLE PAST DEBTS, INCLUDING THOSE FROM THE COVID ERA AND PROVIDE A SOLID FINANCIAL POSITION FOR THE FUTURE SO MANY MORE STUDENTS CAN BE EDUCATED.
