THE MISSION OF THE MISSOURI-KANSAS-NEBRASKA (MKN) CHAPTER OF THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY ASSOCIATIO IS TO: PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND RESOURCES TO ITS MEMBERS; PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO INCOME-ELIGIBLE, FIRST-GENERATION, OR UNDER-REPRESENTED STUDENTS, STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES, AND VETERANS IN THEIR EFFORT TO GAIN ACCESS TO SUCCEED IN POST-SECONDARY AND GRADUATE EDUCATION; PROVIDE INFORMATION REGARDING ISSUES OF EQUAL ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION.

ANNUAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: CONFERENCE FOR DISADVANTAGED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. A PLACE WHERE ATTENDEES CAN INCREASE THEIR ENGAGEMENT, LEARN PERTINENT SKILLS, BE INSPRIED, PROVIDE SUPPORT, NETWORK WITH COLLEAGUES AND SHARE EXPERTIES.


HEARTLAND CONFERENCE: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS IN POST- SECONDARY EDUCATION TO SUPPORT DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS. THE CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE INDIVIDUAL STUDENT RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS, A GRADUATE RECRUITMENT FAIR, SPEAKERS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS, A PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHIP ON WRITING GRADUATE ADMISSIONS ESSAYS, AND OPPORTUNITES TO INTERACT WITH GRADUATE SCHOOL FACULTY AND STAFF.
