OUT BEGAN ITS FIRST PROGRAM, SOCIAL AND SUPPORTIVE MEETINGS FOR LGBTQ+ HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH, IN 2011. THE PROGRAM, ORIGINALLY CALLED "WAGLY," WAS LAUNCHED AT THE REQUEST OF LOCAL YOUTH AND FAMILIES, WHICH HAS SINCE BEEN REBRANDED AS "PRISM," IN RECOGNITION OF THE DIVERSE IDENTITIES HELD BY YOUTH PARTICIPANTS.SINCE THE LAUNCH OF THE ORGANIZATION'S INITIAL PROGRAM, OUT HAS EXPANDED TO SERVE ITS COMMUNITY FURTHER BY ADDING SEVERAL NEW PROGRAMS, INCLUDING:UMBRELLA: A TRANS-FACILITATED PROGRAM FOR TRANSGENDER, NON-BINARY, AND GENDER QUESTIONING HIGH SCHOOLERS THAT PROVIDES A SOCIAL AND SUPPORTIVE SPACE TO EXPLORE QUESTIONS RELATED TO GENDER IDENTITY FACILITATED BY TRANSGENDER, NON-BINARY ADULTS.NEXUS: THE STATE'S FIRST COMMUNITY PROGRAM FOR LGBTQ+ YOUTH IN GRADES SIX THROUGH EIGHT, WHICH IS FACILITATED BY LGBTQ+ ADULTS. NEXUS PROVIDES A SOCIAL AND SUPPORTIVE SPACE TO EXPLORE QUESTIONS RELATED TO SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND GENDER IDENTITY.SHINE: OUT'SPROGRAM FOR GENDER EXPANSIVE YOUNG CHILDREN, WHICH INCLUDE VARIOUS OUTINGS INCLUDING MINI-GOLF, SPLASH PARKS, THEATER PERFORMANCES, ART ACTIVITIES AND INFORMATIONAL PANELS FEATURING TRANSGENDER ADULTS.ADDITIONALLY, OUT OFFERS DROP-IN SESSIONS FOR ADDITIONAL TIME TO CONNECT WITH LGBTQ+ PEERS AND ROLE MODELS, WHICH ARE OFFERED AS UNSTRUCTURED PERIODS EACH WEEK. OUT HAS ALSO LAUNCHED PROGRAMMING SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUTH OF COLOR.OUT CURRENTLY RUNS MORE THAN A DOZEN YOUTH MEETINGS PER MONTH OUT OF ITS HUB IN FRAMINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS, PLUS ONLINE PROGRAMMING AND SATELLITE EVENTS AROUND THE METROWEST REGION. EACH YEAR, OUT DIRECTLY SERVES MORE THAN 300 YOUTH AND ENGAGES HUNDREDS OF ADDITIONAL PEOPLE OF ALL AGES THROUGH OUR LGBTQ+ TRAININGS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS.
