SHELBY COUNTY SCHOLASTIC CLAY TARGET ASSOCIATION (SCSCTA) SUPPORTED SAFE SHOOTING SPORTS OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTHS AGED APPROXIMATELY 12 TO 18 YEARS OF AGE OR GRADES 6 THROUGH 12. SCSCTA SUPPORT INCLUDES PROVIDING PRACTICE LOCATIONS, UPGRADING AND MAINTAINING FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT, ORGANIZING COMPETITIVE TOURNAMENTS AND PROVIDING AWARDS FOR PERFORMANCE, IMPROVEMENT AND SCHOLARSHIP ACTIVITY BY THE ATHLETES. SCSCTA PRESENTLY SERVES ATHLETES AND TEAMS UNDER THE RULES AND GUIDANCE OF THE AMERICAN TRAPSHOOTING ASSOCIATION (ATA) AND THE AIM (ACADEMICS, INTEGRITY, MARKSMANSHIP) PROGRAM. AIM'S PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH FIREARMS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THROUGH COLLEGE AGED SHOOTERS.
