GRANTED REIMBURSEMENT AMOUNTS TO PROVIDE WEEKLY ORFF MUSIC THERAPY SESSIONS FOR FOUR- AND FIVE-YEAR OLDS IN FIFTEEN NC PRE-K AND SIX HEAD START CLASSROOMS IN CONCORD AND KANNAPOLIS NC WITH ORFF TRAINED MUSIC INSTRUCTORS. PROVIDED MORE THAN 2,700 CONTACT HOURS OVER THE SCHOOL YEAR. CLASSROOMS LOCATED AT LOCKHART EARLY LEARNING CENTER, CABARRUS BILINGUAL PRESCHOOL, MCKNIGHT CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, AND HEAD START FOR CABARRUS COUNTY AT THE LONG SCHOOL.
PROVIDED BOOKS TO FOUR- AND FIVE-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN AT FIFTEEN NC PRE-K AND SIX HEAD START CLASSROOMS IN CONCORD AND KANNAPOLIS NC. EACH CHILD RECEIVED THREE BOOKS OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR -- START, IN DECEMBER, AND AT THE END OF THE YEAR. CHILDREN THRILLED TO HAVE A BOOK OF THEIR OWN. BOOKS TAKEN FROM INVENTORY PURCHASED PRIOR YEAR.
GENERAL SUPPORT OF THE CHILDREN IN THE ABOVE CLASSROOMS AS WELL AS THE TEACHERS AND SCHOOLS. ITEMS INCLUDED MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR LAMINATOR IN USE AT ONE OF THE SCHOOLS, ORFF TRAINING FOR SCHOOL RESOURCES, AND CONSCIOUS DISCIPLINE TRAINING FOR PRE-SCHOOL TEACHERS.
