THE ABS IS A NON-PROFIT, CHARITABLE EDUCATIONAL PALESTINIAN-AMERICAN ORGANIZATION WHOSE PROUD MEMBERS DERIVE THEIR ANCESTRY FROM THE ORIGINAL FAMILY CLANS OF THE CITY OF AL BIREH, PALESTINE. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE AL BIREH SOCIETY IS TO SERVE OUR MEMBERSHIP AND THE PALESTINIAN ARAB, NON-ARAB, AND CHARITABLE COMMUNITIES IN THE UNITED STATES AND ABROAD IN PALESTINE. THE MISSION OF THE AL BIREH SOCIETY IS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS AND APPRECIATION FOR THE HISTORICAL, CULTURAL, AND SOCIAL HERITAGE OF AL-BIREH PALESTINE. THE AL BIREH SOCIETYS MISSION SEEKS TO PERPETUATE THE AL BIREH FAMILY BY MEANS OF PROVIDING EDUCATION, HUMANITARIAN, CHARITABLE, AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS AS WELL AS SOCIAL INTERACTION AND TO ENHANCE AND PROMOTE OUR CULTURE AND HERITAGE TO THOSE OUTSIDE OF OUR COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. 4A. WE PERFORMED AROUND 5 DIFFERENT PROGRAMS THAT CENTERED ON CELEBRATION OF OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE. ONE PROGRAM WE DID IN COLLABORATION WITH A NON- PROFIT IN AL-BIREH CALLED INASH AL USRA WHERE WE HIGHTLIGHTED POPULAR CULTURAL DISHES AND DID A LIVE COOKING SEGMENT. WE ALSO DID A NUMBER OF EMERGENCY SESSIONS WITH OUR LOCAL MAYOR AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM AL-BIREH MUNICIPALITY. WE DID A PROGRAM FOR YOUTH CENTERED AROUND LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. LASTLY, WE FOCUSED ON EMERGENCY PROGRAMMING THAT ALLOWED OUR MEMBERS TO UNDERSTAND THE STATE OF EMERGENCY DURING COVID19 SHUTDOWN. WE ALSO HOSTED A MEETING IN A NUMBER OF STATES INCLUDING NC, CO, FL, CA, TN TO DRIVE MEMBERSHIP. 4B. MANAGEMENT/GENERAL. WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR WEBSITE, ACCOUTANT FEES, SERVICE FEES FOR SCHOLARSHIP. 4C. ABS MEMBERS WANTED TO CREATE AN ABS COVID19 RELIEF FUND WHICH WAS DEVELOPED IN RESPONSE TO GLOBAL PANDEMIC TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY RELIEF TO MEMBERS IN AL-BIREH. THE FUND WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE EMERGENT RELIEF IN THE FORM OF PURCHASING PPE, OXYGEN CANISTERS, MEDICAL SUPPLY, ETC.
