PROVIDING CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES THAT BENEFIT THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE OF NEPAL.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
WOMEN'S HEALTH CAMP: THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE NEPALI NGO WE PARTNER WITH TO PROVIDE FOLLOW-UP CARE FOR THE NINETY-ONE WOMEN WE IDENTIFIED AT OUR 2020 HEALTH CAMP. A TEAM OF GYNECOLOGISTS WAS SET TO LEAVE FOR KHANIYABAS RURAL MUNICIPALITY WHEN THE DELTA VARIANT HIT NEPAL (APRIL 2021). THE NGO DECIDED TO STOP ALL OPERATIONS, FEARING THAT IF WOMEN WERE BROUGHT TO KATHMANDU FOR CARE, AND BECAME INFECTED WITH COVID, THEY WOULD BLAME THE NGO. CURRENTLY, WE ARE SEARCHING FOR SOLUTIONS TO THIS SITUATION.
OUR SHOES FOR SHERPAS PROGRAM WAS NOT ACTIVE IN 2021.
COLORADO NEPAL ALLIANCE IS FREQUENTLY CONTACTED BY ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FRONT RANGE OF COLORADO. THESE INCLUDE GOVERNMENT OFFICES, HOSPITALS, AND TRANSLATION SERVICES. WE HAVE PROVIDED TRANSLATORS FOR NEPALI FAMILIES IN PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH CRISES, HAVE HELPED HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS UNDERSTAND NEPALI CULTURE, AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ASSESS THE NUMBER OF NEPALI CHILDREN WITH AUTISM, TO DETERMINE IF THERE IS INTEREST IN A FAMILY SUPPORT GROUPS.
