IS A CHAMPION FOR A THRIVING AND VIBRANT CITY CENTER THAT HONORS TRADITIONS, CELEBRATES PROGRESS, AND ENGAGES OUR COMMUNITY IN CONCERTED EFFORTS TO FOSTER A COMFORTABLE, WELCOMING AND THRIVING ENVIRONMENT WHERE BUSINESSES, BOTH NEW AND OLD, PROSPER; WHERE THE COMMUNITY GATHERS; AND WHERE PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE COME TO LIVE, WORK, PLAY, AND INVEST.

FOUR VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES (DESIGN, ORGANIZATION, PROMOTION, AND ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING) WERE ESTABLISHED AND EACH DEVELOPED WORK PLANS TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES AND BRING NEW CUSTOMERS DOWNTOWN. KENOSHA WAS DESIGNATED A MAIN STREET COMMUNITY IN JULY 2013 AND, IN OCTOBER 2014, DOWNTOWN KENOSHA, INC. RECEIVED ITS 501(C)(3) STATUS AS A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION. DOWNTOWN KENOSHA, INC. HOSTS PROMOTIONAL EVENTS--INCLUDING MONTHLY SECOND SATURDAY EVENTS, A HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING AND DOWNTOWN DECORATING EVENT, A WINTER SNOW DAZE FESTIVAL, AND AN EASTER EVENT--TO IMPROVE THE PERCEPTION OF DOWNTOWN AND ATTRACT A GROWING CUSTOMER BASE TO DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES. DOWNTOWN KENOSHA, INC. ALSO COORDINATED VISITS AND WORKED ON FEASIBILITY STUDIES FOR PROSPECTIVE DEVELOPERS TO REDEVELOP VACANT PROPERTIES IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA. DOWNTOWN KENOSHA, INC.
