KICS COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING SERVES YOUTH YEAR ROUND WITH A VARIETY OF SKILL LEVEL LEAGUES AND COMPETITIONS IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO.
KICS SOCCER FOR SUCCESS: OUR INITIATIVE TO ENGAGE AT RISK YOUTH AT CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS WITH OUR PROFESSIONAL COACHING STAFF WHO ARE WORKING TO INTEGRATE THOSE YOUTH INTO OUR KICS COMMUNITY SOCCER PROGRAM YEAR ROUND. OUR GOAL IS TO ACTIVATE AT RISK YOUTH IN POSITIVE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING AND SHARE THE POSITIVE KICS EXPERIENCE WITH CHICAGOS CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. AS KICS SOCCER FOR SUCCESS EXPANDS, WE WILL WORK WITH OUR LOCAL ALDERMAN AND CHICAGO COMMUNITY POLICING TO STUDY THE EFFECT OF AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING ON YOUTH VIOLENT CRIME.
