Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
TO HARNESS THE POWER OF THE LATINO COMMUNITY, SO THAT THE VOICES AND VALUES OF LATINOS ARE REFLECTED IN THE POLICIES THAT DRIVE THE COUNTRY FORWARD, AND TO BRING MEANINGFUL ATTENTION AND RESPECT TO THE PRIORITIES OF THE LATINO COMMUNITY.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS - THROUGH A ROBUST EARNED AND SOCIAL MEDIA PROGRAM, LVP HAS WORKED TO INFORM THE PUBLIC ON LATINO ISSUE PRIORITIES INCLUDING IMMIGRATION REFORM, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, A CLEAN AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT, EDUCATION AND AFFORDABLE HEATHCARE AND GUN REFORM. WE BUILT CAMPAIGNS WITH DIVERSE PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO AMPLIFY THE MESSAGES THAT IMPACT LATINO COMMUNITIES MOST AND WORK TO EFFECT LASTING POLICY CHANGE.
EDUCATING AND MOBILIZING LATINOS ON THE ISSUES: THIS PROGRAM FOCUSED ON ENGAGING LATINAS AND LATINOS BY CREATING AWARENESS OF KEY POLICY ISSUES AND MOBILIZING LATINOS TO HARNESS THIS COMMUNITY'S CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, INCLUDING VOTING AND VOTER REGISTRATION. THE PROGRAM AIMED TO EDUCATE LATINO VOTERS AND THE LATINO COMMUNITY ON THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING IN THE 2021 ELECTIONS VIA MEDIA OUTREACH AND GOTV EVENTS. WE ALSO ENGAGED IN POLLING BECAUSE RESEARCH AND POLLING ARE VITAL TO INFORMING THE ORGANIZATION'S INITIATIVES AND HONING THE FOCUS OF OUR PROGRAMS. TO UNDERSTAND ATTITUDES AND BELIEFS AFFECTING LATINO CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, WE CONDUCT POLLING AT KEY INFLECTION POINTS DURING THE YEAR TO DETERMINE WHAT ISSUES MOTIVATED LATINOS TOWARD ENGAGEMENT AND TO UNDERSTAND WHY LATINOS CHOSE TO PARTICIPATE OR NOT PARTICIPATE, AS THE CASE MAY BE.
ENGAGING LATINO INFLUENCERS - LVP STRATEGICALLY USED PUBLIC INFLUENCERS VIA DIGITAL OUTREACH, EVENTS, AND ADVERTISING TO RAISE THE LEVEL OF INTEREST AND PARTICIPATION IN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. FROM PROMOTING VOTER REGISTRATION, GOTV EFFORTS AND EDUCATING THE LATINO COMMUNITY ON ISSUES THAT MATTER, LVP CONSISTENTLY WORKED TO EMPHASIZE THE POWER LATINOS HAVE TO BUILD SUSTAINABLE CHANGE FOR THEMSELVES. SOME OF THIS IS DONE THROUGH VOTER MOBILIZATION PROGRAMS SUCH AS VOTE LIKE A MADRE, WHICH AIMS TO MOBILIZE LATINA MOM INFLUENCERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA, RADIO, AND VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON EVENTS AROUND THE ISSUE OF CLIMATE CHANGE. WE ALSO WORK TO RECRUIT AND DEVELOP A PIPELINE OF LATINO LEADERS THAT WILL CONTINUE TO UPHOLD THIS WORK AND BE CHANGEMAKERS FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES.
