THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES GOVERNANCE AND THE LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR SECURE DATA SHARING THROUGHOUT VIRGINIA AND PROVIDES A PUBLIC HEALTH REPORTING PATHWAY FOR PATIENT RELATED DATA. CONTRACTUAL SUPPORT IS PROVIDED FOR PARTICIPATION IN EHEALTH EXCHANGE AS THE MECHANISM FOR QUERY AND RETRIEVAL OF PATIENT SUMMARY CARE DOCUMENTS FROM THE NATIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE. FEES FOR THESE SERVICES ARE SET AT $59 PER STAFFED BED PER YEAR FOR 2016 - 2018.THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES FUNDING FROM VDH TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S STATEWIDE HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE. THE EXCHANGE PROVIDES A SINGLE, STATEWIDE TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION THAT CONNECTS ALL HOSPITAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS TO FACILITATE REAL-TIME COMMUNICATION.THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES ANNUAL SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE FOR ALL HOSPITALS THAT REGISTER FOR THE CORE SERVICES.
