TO SUPPORT AND ADVOCATE FOR THE WORK OF SCHMEECKLE RESERVE THROUGH PROGRAMS AND OUTREACH, LAND MANAGEMENT, AND BY RAISING FUNDING AND RESOURCES.

RESERVE MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT AND RESTORATION: MAINTAINING AND IMPROVING SCHMEECKLE RESERVE IS OUR PRIMARY PURPOSE. THIS INCLUDES REFURBISHING THE WETLANDS OVERLOOK, AND REFURBISHING THE AMPHITHEATER. INSTALLING BENCHES THROUGHOUT THE RESERVE, INSTALLING A SECOND SOLAR PANEL FOR ELECTRICAL PROUCTION, MAINTAINING AND IMPROVING THE EXTENSIVE TRAIL SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THE RESERVE AS WELL AS THE DAY TO DAY MAINTENANCE NEEDED TO KEEP THE RESERVE SAFE AND ATTRACTIVE AND NATURAL LOOKING.
ENDOWMENT: THE FRIENDS ESTABLISHED AN ENDOWMENT FOR SCHMEECKLE RESERVE TO INSURE ONGOING SUPPORT FOR YEARS TO COME.
LAKE ACCESSAABILITY: WE HAVE INSTALLED A HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE FISHING/RECREATIONAL DOCKAS WELL AS IMPROVING THE LAKE TRAIL TO MAKE THE RESERVE MUCH MORE ACCESSIBLE TO THE HANDICAPPED.
MOSES CREEK MEADOWS: WE ARE INSTALLING A BOARDWALK AND AN OBSERVATION PLATFORM IN THE MOSES CREEK WETLANDS.
