FAMILY PROGRAMS: FAMILY HUI HAWAII WORKS DIRECTLY WITH FAMILIES TO SHARE AND LEARN PROVEN PARENTING STRATEGIES & CHILD DEVELOPMENT KNOWLEDGE, DEVELOPING A NETWORK OF SOCIAL SUPPORT, INCREASING AWARENESS OF COMMUNITY RESOURCES THROUGH PEER-TO-PEER PARENTING SUPPORT GROUPS AND ACTIVITIES, INCREASING THEIR CAPACITY TO RAISE HEALTHY AND THRIVING CHILDREN AND LAYING A FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN'S SUCCESS IN SCHOOL AND ADULTHOOD. FAMILIES BUILD PROTECTIVE FACTORS AGAINST ISOLATION, DEPRESSION, AND CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT. PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES TO DEVELOP PARENT AND COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP.
