OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE: TO HELP EMPOWER AND HEAL PEDIATRIC CANCER FAMILIES THROUGH THE RESOURCE OF PEER SUPPORT. WE BELIEVE THAT COMMUNITY IS MUCH MORE THAN BELONGING TO SOMETHING, BUT ABOUT DOING SOMETHING TOGETHER THAT MAKES BELONGING MATTER. MOMCOLOGY REMAINS COMMITTED TO CONTINUING TO IDENTIFY GAPS IN THE PEDIATRIC CANCER CAREGIVER PARADIGM, AND CREATING INTUITIVE, RESPONSIBLE AND IMPACTFUL SOLUTIONS TO BETTER SERVE OUR COMMUNITY WITH THE MOST ACCESSIBLE RESOURCES AVAILABLE. WE IDENTIFY NEEDS, AND INNOVATE NEW SOLUTIONS THROUGH THOUGHTFUL PEER-BASED PROGRAMS AND MEANINGFUL COLLABORATIONS WITH OTHER MISSION-BASED PEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY ORGANIZATIONS AND HOSPITAL PSYCHOSOCIAL TEAMS. MOMCOLOGY RETREATS - SERVES APPROX 144 MOTHERS OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER EACH YEAR IN CITIES ACROSS THE U.S. PARTICIPANTS EXPERIENCE SEVERAL COMPONENTS OF SELF-CARE AND EDUCATION THROUGH BOTH PROFESSIONALLY FACILITATED WORKSHOPS (POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY, NUTRITION, THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE, YOGA) AND PEER SUPPORT PROGRAMMING OVER A 3 DAY WEEKEND. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS REPORT AN AVG. OF 70% REDUCTION IN STRESS IMMEDIATELY AFTER ATTENDING A MOMCOLOGY RETREAT AND BUILDING A NEW PEER SUPPORT COMMUNITY. COVID-19 CRISIS CANCELLED 2020 RETREATS.
