THE MISSION OF THE GREENWICH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ("GIFF") IS TO BRIDGE THE WORLDS OF FILM AND PHILANTHROPY WITH YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMMING AND SPECIAL EVENTS. ADDITIONALLY, GIFF HARNESSES THE POWER OF FILM TO SERVE THE GREATER GOOD BY HIGHLIGHTING IMPORTANT ISSUES THAT RELATE TO BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS, EDUCATION, THE ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH CARE.WITHIN THE PAST FISCAL YEAR:A. GIFF SUPPORTED FILMMAKERS WITH PUBLICITY AND CASH AWARDS, GIVING OUT $10,000 IN CASH PRIZES FOR THE BEST SOCIAL IMPACT FILM AWARD TO MATTHEW HEINEMAN, DIRECTOR OF, "THE FIRST WAVE", WHICH WAS SELECTED BY GIFF'S JURY.B. GIFF GENERATED 2.3 BILLION POSITIVE MEDIA IMPRESSIONS FOR ITS FILMS, FILMMAKERS, CHARITY PARTNERS, THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT AND THE TOWN OF GREENWICH.

GIFF FILM PROGRAM - GIFF SHOWCASES A MIX OF IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL FILMS AND Q&AS WITH FILMMAKERS, MANY OF WHICH HAVE A SOCIAL IMPACT FOCUS THAT ENLIGHTEN OUR AUDIENCE TO ISSUES FACING THE WORLD TODAY. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE THE SOCIAL IMPACT FILM SERIES, THE JEWISH FILM SERIES, HIVE, TO OLIVIA, THE DISRUPTORS, THE FIRST WAVE, BAD ROADS, MASS AND MANY OTHERS. ADDITIONALLY, GIFF SUPPORTS FILMMAKERS BY OFFERING THE BEST SOCIAL IMPACT FILM AWARD WHICH CAME WITH A $10,000 CASH PRIZE THAT WAS AWARDED TO MATTHEW HEINEMAN DIRECTOR OF "THE FIRST WAVE".B. GIFF CHANGEMAKER GALA - GIFF HONORS ARTISTS WHO USE THEIR VOICE WITH CHANGEMAKER AWARDS EACH YEAR. THIS YEAR'S HONOREE WAS LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA, WHO RECEIVED THE AWARD AT THE CHANGEMAKER GALA. 300 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE BLACK-TIE DINNER AND AWARD CEREMONY WHICH WAS EMCEED BY JENNA BUSH HAGER AT L'ESCALE IN GREENWICH, CT. GIFF DONATED $100,000 TO THE MIRANDA FAMILY FUND AS THE HISPANIC FEDERATION.C. PANEL DISCUSSIONS - GIFF HOSTED A NUMBER OF PANEL DISCUSSIONS AND Q&A'S WITH FILM TALENT. AS AN EXAMPLE, GIFF HOSTED PROGRESS & PERSEVERANCE: DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION IN ENTERTAINMENT FOR AN AUDIENCE OF 200 PEOPLE. THIS PANEL HIGHLIGHTED THE IMPORTANCE OF CENTERING ON MORE DIVERSE VOICES AND IMPLEMENTING EQUITABLE PRACTICES WITHIN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. HANNAH STORM MODERATED THE DISCUSSION FEATURING INDUSTRY LEADERS AND INNOVATORS.
