FILMMAKERS COLLABORATIVE'S (FC) MISSION IS TO SPONSOR AND SUPPORT THE INDEPENDENT MEDIA COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING FISCAL SPONSORSHIP AND GRANTS MANAGEMENT TO A DIVERSE MEMBERSHIP THAT INCLUDES AWARD-WINNING PBS DOCUMENTARIANS, FIRST-TIME PRODUCERS AND DIRECTORS, AND YOUNG PEOPLE JUST DISCOVERING THE POWER AND POTENTIAL OF VISUAL MEDIA. OUR GOAL IS TO EDUCATE AND ENRICH THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH WE WORK AND LIVE BY HELPING PEOPLE MAKE REAL AND LASTING CONNECTIONS THROUGH THE POWER OF INDEPENDENT FILM.
EVENTS & LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: FC PRODUCES YEAR-FOUND PROGRAMS THAT OFFER CREATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS & THE COMMUNITY. THESE INCLUDE BUSINESS WORKSHOPS FOR FILMMAKERS, A SERIES OF PODCASTS HIGHLIGHTING FILMMAKERS IN OUR COMMUNITY- MAKING MEDIA NOW, FILMMAKING COURSES FOR YOUTH (FC ACADEMY) AND A CHILDREN'S INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (BOSTON INTERNATIONAL KIDS FILM FESTIVAL.)
