FUND TEXAS CHOICE HELPS TEXANS EQUITABLY ACCESS ABORTION THROUGH SAFE, CONFIDENTIAL, AND COMPREHENSIVE TRAVEL SERVICES AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT. WE ALLEVIATE THE FINANCIAL BURDENS AND CONSTRAINTS PLACED ON TEXANS WHO MUST TRAVEL FOR SAFE AND APPROPRIATE FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES. WE PROVIDE DIRECT FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR TRANSPORTATION, ACCOMMODATION, MEALS, CHILDCARE, AND WE OFFER EMOTIONAL AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT. GIVEN THE UNJUST AND RESTRICTIVE LAWS IN TEXAS, THE GREAT MAJORITY OF OUR CLIENTS ARE FORCED TO TRAVEL OUT OF STATE TO RECEIVE THEIR ABORTION CARE. FUND TEXAS CHOICE ENVISIONS A SOCIETY IN WHICH ABORTION IS EMBRACED AS HEALTHCARE AND A HUMAN RIGHT. AS A HUMAN RIGHT, ABORTION IS EQUITABLY ACCESSIBLE ACROSS POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL SYSTEMS SO THAT PEOPLE HAVE AUTONOMOUS BODIES AND FUTURES SUPPORTED BY POWERFUL AND VIBRANT COMMUNITIES.

DURING THIS TAX YEAR, FUND TEXAS CHOICE RECEIVED OVER 2,000 REQUESTS FOR ASSISTANCE. WE SPENT $621,543.69 ON DIRECT CLIENT EXPENSES TO PROVIDE 1,036 PEOPLE WITH FLIGHTS, LODGING, GAS, RIDESHARE, FOOD, AND CHILDCARE REIMBURSEMENTS SO THAT THEY COULD TRAVEL TO THEIR APPOINTMENTS. ALMOST 99% OF CLIENTS ASSISTED WERE FORCED TO TRAVEL OUT OF STATE. THE CLIENTS WE SERVED TRAVELED ALMOST 668,000 TOTAL MILES. IN ORDER TO ASSIST ALMOST THREE TIMES MORE CLIENTS THAN THE PREVIOUS YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION HIRED 3 DIRECT SERVICE PROGRAM STAFF. OVER 70% OF OUR CLIENTS IDENTIFY AS BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND OR OTHER PERSONS OF COLOR.
