OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE UNDERSERVED WOMEN FROM LOW-INCOME IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES WITH A HEALTH PROMOTION AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM. EFFECTIVE JUNE 30, 2023, GRAMEEN PRIMACARE AND ITS MAIN PROGRAM, GRAMEEN PROMOTORAS, WERE OFFICIALLY ACQUIRED BY ITS SISTER ORGANIZATION, GRAMEEN AMERICA, BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT OF THE GRAMEEN PRIMACARE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. ALL EMPLOYEES, ASSETS, LAIBILITES, AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY WERE TRANSFERRED TO GRAMEEN AMERICA, INC.

PROMOTORAS - GRAMEEN PROMOTORAS IS A PROGRAM THAT AIMS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF GRAMEEN AMERICA BORROWERS IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS BY USING A COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER APPROACH IN A NON-CLINICAL SETTING. PROMOTORAS MODELS HAVE PROVED SUCCESSFUL IN DEMOGRAPHICALLY SIMILAR COMMUNITIES AROUND THE COUNTRY AND IN CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA. BASED ON KNOWLEDGE GLEANED FROM VIDASANA, GRAMEEN PROMOTORAS PROVIDES WOMEN WITH BASIC HEALTH SCREENINGS (ADA RISK ASSESMENT, ETC), HEALTH SYSTEM EDUCATION AND NAVIGATION, PREVENTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION, PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES, AND PEER SUPPORT. THE PROGRAM HAS PRODUCED MANY IMPROVED HEALTH OUTCOMES AND BENEFITS IN A LOW-COST, EFFICIENT, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, SCALABLE MANNER. THE PROMOTORAS PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED AND LAUNCHED IN SEPTEMBER 2016 (FY 17) IN THE BRONX, AND WAS EXPANDED TO JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS IN JANUARY 2021 (FY 21); IN FY 22, THE PROGRAM FURTHER EXPANDED TO LOCATIONS IN CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA AND CONNECTICUT; IN FY 23, THE PROGRAM FURTHER LAUNCHED IN UPPER MANHATTAN/INWOOD, NY AND LOS ANGELES, CA (PICO UNION).
EVALUATION - GRAMEEN PRIMACARE'S EVALUATION PROGRAM EMPLOYS SCIENTIFICALLY RIGOROUS RESEARCH METHODS TO IDENTIFY HEALTH NEEDS, BARRIERS AND CHALLENGES FACING OUR MEMBERS IN ORDER TO TRANSLATE FINDINGS INTO QUALITY CARE. THROUGH EVALUATION AND ANALYSIS, OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE ROBUST HEALTH PROGRAMS THAT SATISFY UNMET NEEDS IN THE COMMUNITY AND TO PRODUCE MEANINGFUL RESEARCH THAT CAN GENERATE HEALTH CARE REFORM, WHICH INSPIRES A MORE EQUITABLE AND EFFICIENT HEALTH SYSTEM.
