PROJECT HEALTHY COMMUNITY (PHC) IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELLNESS EDUCATION BY PROVIDING SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY-BASED NUTRITION, FITNESS, AND MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION AND SERVICES TO KINDERGARTENERS THROUGH SENIORS IN DETROIT. EXAMPLES OF PROGRAMMING ARE: - PHC'S MOBILE PANTRY IS A COLLABORATION WITH GLEANERS COMMUNITY FOOD BANK AND FORGOTTEN HARVEST. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 100 WORTH OF GROCERIES TO 350 FAMILIES MONTHLY AND HAS BEEN A STAPLE OF SUPPORT IN THE NW DETROIT COMMUNITY. SINCE COVID, THE PANTRY HAS IMPLEMENTED A DRIVE- THROUGH MODEL AND HAS ALLOWED FOLKS TO REMAIN IN THEIR VEHICLES. VOLUNTEERS FROM THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS ROCKET MORTGAGE, DTE AND MADONNA UNIVERSITY HAVE HELPED SUSTAIN THE PROGRAM THROUGH THE YEARS. - THE PE-NUT AND LINKING LESSONS PROGRAMS, FUNDED THROUGH THE MICHIGAN FITNESS FOUNDATION, INCORPORATE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION INTO THEIR IN-CLASS INTERVENTIONS, ACTIVELY ENGAGING STUDENTS IN
