FRIENDS OF THE BING WAS SHUT DOWN DURING THE PAST FISCAL YEAR DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THE PRIOR YEAR WE PRESENTED 10 PERFORMANCE AND VISUAL ARTS SHOWS PERFORMED BY THE COMMUNITY, REACHING AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 2000 PEOPLE. THESE WORKS ARE PRIMARILY THOSE OF ARTISTS AND GENRES THAT ARE TYPICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED IN MAINSTREAM MEDIA. MANY ARE LOCALLY BASED AND WITHOUT US WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED. FRIENDS OF THE BING IS LOOKING FORWARD TO 2022 AND BEYOND. WE WILL BE TAKING ON THE OPERATIONS AND RENTAL OF THE BING CROSBY THEATER AS WELL AS PRESENTING AND PROMOTING OUR OWN SHOWS. THIRTY THREE SHOWS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SCHEDULED FOR 2022 AND WE HOPE TO HAVE MANY MORE JOIN OUR CALENDAR SOON.
