IN 2022, FRIENDS OF THE BING TOOK OVER THE OPERATIONS OF THE BING CROSBY THEATER FROM DAVENPORT DISTRICT HOSPITALITY. FOCUSING ON KEEPING THE THEATER ACTIVE, A TOTAL OF 153 SHOWS WERE PRESENTED TO THE COMMUNITY REACHING AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 12,233 PEOPLE. THESE WORKS ARE PRIMARILY THOSE OF ARTISTS AND GENRES THAT ARE TYPICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA. IN THE MONTH OF JUNE THREE LOCAL BALLET STUDIOS PRESENTED THEIR YEARLY RECITALS, CHRISTIAN YOUTH THEATER RENTED THE BING FOR FIVE DIFFERENT PLAYS WITH EACH RENTAL INVOLVING OVER 65 CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES BEING IN THE THEATER FOR TWO WEEKS. IN 2022, NORTHWEST PASSAGES (A LOCAL NON-PROFIT) PRESENTED FOUR AUTHOR EVENTS TO THE COMMUNITY AND A LOCAL POLITICAL DEBATE. WE HAVE HOSTED EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY'S MUSIC DEPARTMENT AND THE SPOKANE JAZZ ORCHESTRA CONTINUED WITH THE PROGRAM OF 5 SHOWS PER YEAR AT OUR COMMUNITY THEATER. FRIENDS OF THE BING PRESENTED THREE OF OUR OWN SHOWS SUPPORTING THE ARTS AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO BRINGING BACK THE STAGE TO SCREEN MONTHLY PROGRAM IN 2023.
