ECONOMIC ENGINE WITH MILK MONEY & BIG APPLE CRUNCH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL FARMERS ACROSS NYS IN DAIRY PRODUCTION AND THE APPLE BELT, OUR DEDICATION IS BRINGING CHILDREN CLOSER TO FOOD AND FARMING AT SCHOOL LUNCH WITH HEALTHY FUN TOO IN EARLY STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT. WE CONNECT FAMILY FARMS AND YOUTH DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR ESPECIALLY WHEN IT KICKS OFF "FARM TO SCHOOL MONTH" IN OCTOBER FOR A STATEWIDE BIG APPLE CRUNCH BY COORDINATING A "CRUNCH CHALLENGE" FOR BETTER HEALTH AWARENESS. THIS TOGETHER WITH PROVIDING SCHOOL MILK TO LUNCHROOMS "COW TO KID IN 36HRS" BY FUNDING SALES DIRECT FROM FARMS TO SCHOOLS BRINGS AWARENESS TO FOOD CHOICES AND SOURCES, INSPIRING US TO EAT LOCAL AND UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF FARMING.


COMMUNITY & SCHOOL VICTORY GARDENS. FARMON! VICTORY GARDEN IS AN EDIBLE EDUCATION WITH GARDEN-BASED LEARNING. WE HAVE OUR OWN VICTORY GARDEN AT EMPIRE FARM. TODAY, IT'S WHERE WE GROW MUCH OF THE PRODUCE FOR OUR COMMUNITY-SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA) PROGRAM, AS WELL AS PART OF THE CROP FOR OUR PILOT INITIATIVE FOR HEMP CULTIVATION WHICH WE SHARE IN TEMPLATES FOR LOCAL FARMS TO REPLICATE. CONNECTING THE VICTORY GARDEN TO THE CLASSROOM PROVIDES ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICES AND TIES HEALTHY EATING TO SPORTS WITH OUR "SLAM DUNK YOUR VEGGIES" SCHOOL GARDEN ACTIVATION.

AT EMPIRE FARM CURATES AN IMMERSIVE APPLIED LEARNING AND IN-RESIDENCE EXPERIENCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE AND ARE SEEKING EDUCATION IN A LEARN TO EARN ENTREPRENEURIAL OR VOCATIONAL SETTING ON THE FARM WITH OPPORTUNITIES THAT FOSTER THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT IN AGRICULTURE THROUGH A BUSINESS LENS. OUR AG-BUSINESS INCUBATOR OFFERS AN APPRENTICESHIP FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND BEGINNING FARMERS TO LEARN REAL SKILLS (COOKING, COUNTING, CONFLICT RESOLUTION, COMMUNICATION, BUSINESS, AND BUDGETS) AND THE BUSINESS & ECONOMICS OF THE MODERN FOOD INDUSTRY BY MANAGING SALES TO CONNECT RURAL AND URBAN MARKETPLACES. THIS AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE AIMS TO SHIFT THE PARADIGM TOWARD BETTER FOOD FOR ALL AND FOSTER AN ENTREPRENEURIAL APPROACH TO FARMING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION TO FEED US.
