THE RANDLY L. WENDT FOUNDATION IS AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PERFORMING CHARITABLE, CIVIC, SCIENTIFIC, LITERARY, AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE MEANING OF IRC SECTION 501(C)(3) AND TEXAS TAX CODE SECTION 11.18(C) AND SPECIFICALLY TO PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES OF MURDER VICTIMS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO MEMBERS OF FAMILIES OF MURDER VICTIMS. THE FOUNDATION INTENDS TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TUITION, BOOKS, AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE EDUCATIONAL BENEFIT OF FAMILIES OF MURDER VICTIMS, WITH FAMILIES BEING DEFINED AS PARENTS, CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, AND/OR SIBLINGS OF MURDER VICTIMS.
IN THE EVENT THAT THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS IS LESS THAN THE FOURNDATION'S REQUIRED DISTRIBUTION, CONTRIBUTIONS ARE MADE TO THE TEXAS PANHANDLE 100 CLUB, A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION, THAT PROVIDES FINANCIAL AID FOR FAMILIES OF PUBLIC SAFETY PERSONNEL WHO ARE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY.
