TO BUILD, HEAL, AND RESTORE HEALTHY LIVES AS WELL AS FOSTER HEALTHY LIFE CHOICES.

DURING 2023, WE MAINTAINED OUR LIFE SKILLS, AND VOCATIONAL PREPARATION SERVICES AS WELL AS ASSISTING FORMERLY INCARCERATING INDIVIDUALS INTO SECURING FOOD SOURCES, GOVERNMENT IDS, MEDICAL SERVICES, AND GENERALLY ASSIMILATING BACK INTO THE GENERAL POPULATION. WE EXPANDED INTO HOMELESS COURT, MENTAL HEALTH, GRIEF, AND LOSS SUPPORT SERVICES AND REFERRALS AS WELL. WE MAINTAINED OCCUPANCY OF OUR HOMES AT 85% WHILE CONTINUING TO KEEP HOUSING COSTS WELL BELOW THE NATIONAL AVERAGE TO OFFSET INFLATION INCREASES. WE SUPPORTED LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND CAUSES SUCH AS TEEN CHALLENGE, MC MCALISTER INSTITUTE WALK FOR SOBRIETY, AND RAISING AWARENESS OF OPIOID ADDICTION IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY. WORKED CLOSELY WITH CPS TO ALLOW CHILDREN TO STAY WITH THEIR PARENTS FOR OVERNIGHTS UNDER OUR SUPERVISION. COMMUNITY CLEAN UP: EVERY QUARTER IN 023 WE PICKED A HOME IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF EACH OF OUR FACILITIES AND PROVIDED COMMUNITY CLEAN UP. REFERRED 100+ FAMILIES WITHIN THE SAN DIEGO AREA TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. BECAME LISTED IN ALL CALIFORNIA STATE PRISONS AS A RESOURCE FOR LIFERS, AND A SAFE, SOBER ENVIRONMENT TO PAROLE TO AND PARTNERED WITH THE ALTERNATIVE CUSTODY PROGRAM TO ASSIST RESIDENTS TO BECOME CLEARED AND VETTED. WORKED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS TO SUPPORT PAROLE TO PROBATION ANKLE MONITORS. ALSO PROVIDED HOUSING TO ECS, ACTION CENTRAL, ACTION EAST, AND NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE ASSOCIATION HEALING OAKS CLINIC. WE CONTINUED WITH TRANSLATING OUR HEALTH AND NUTRITION CURRICULUM INTO FRENCH AND SPANISH WHICH IS NOW FINALIZED AND WILL BE RELEASED IN 2024. IN THE 3RD AND 4TH QUARTERS OF 023, WE LAUNCHED A PILOT PROGRAM TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF RESTORING ABANDONED CAT COLONIES, AND TNR (TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN) METHOD IN URBAN SETTINGS.
