STUDENT PROGRAMS: HARTFORD PERFORMS BRINGS PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTISTS INTO HARTFORD PUBLIC SCHOOL CLASSROOMS TO TEACH A VARIETY OF SUBJECTS USING THE ARTS. STUDENTS ALSO VISIT AREA MUSEUMS AND EXPERIENCE PROFESSIONAL DANCE, MUSIC AND THEATER PRODUCTIONS IN GREATER HARTFORD'S LEADING CULTURAL VENUES. IN ALL, THE ORGANIZATION DELIVERS APPROXIMATELY 3,000 PROGRAM HOURS TO HARTFORD STUDENTS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. MORE THAN 10,000 STUDENTS IN ALL 30 OF HARTFORD'S PREK-GRADE 8 SCHOOLS BENEFIT FROM HARTFORD PERFORMS PROGRAMS EACH YEAR.
PROFESSIONAL LEARNING: HARTFORD PERFORMS EDUCATES CERTIFIED CLASSROOM TEACHERS HOW TO USE THE ARTS TO ENHANCE THEIR CURRICULUM, AND TRAINS PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS HOW TO WORK IN CLASSROOMS AND HOW TO USE THEIR ART FORMS TO MEET SPECIFIC STATE AND NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS.
