RESCUE ORGANIZATION FOR ABUSED AND ABANDONED DOGS THAT ARE IN DANGER OF IMMINENT DEATH AT RURAL HIGH KILL SHELTERS IN THE AMERICAN SOUTH AND UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS. THE RESCUE REHABILITATES ANY HEALTH AND BEHAVIOR ISSUES. AFTER REHABILITATION THE ORGANIZATION RE-HOMES THE DOGS WORKING TIRELESSLY TO FIND THE PERFECT MATCH FOR EACH PUP.

IN 2021 BADASS ANIMAL RESCUE RESCUED AND REHABILITATED 276 DOGS AND PLACED 270 DOGS IN THEIR FOREVER HOMES. THE DOGS THAT ARE RESCUED STAY IN LOVING FOSTER HOMES IN BOTH THE SOUTHERN STATES AND UPON ARRIVAL IN NEW YORK CITY. PRIOR TO ADOPTION THE DOGS ARE FULLY VETTED WHICH INCLUDES SPAY NEUTER VACCINATIONS AND PREVENTIVES. IN ADDITION TO THE CORE ADOPTION PROGRAM BADASS ANIMAL RESCUE HAS 4 SPECIAL POPULATION PROGRAMS FOR SENIOR DOGS HEARTWORM-POSITIVE DOGS AND DOGS WITH MAJOR MEDICAL NEEDS. IN 2021 23 OF THE 276 DOGS RESCUED WERE SENIOR ANIMALS THAT RECEIVED SPECIAL CARE AND FOSTERING. OVER THE COURSE OF 2021 28 SENIORS WERE PLACED IN LOVING HOMES. THE RESCUE TREATED 75 DOGS FOR HEARTWORM DISEASE WHICH IS A VERY COMMON DISEASE IN THE WARMER SOUTHERN STATES AND CAN BE DEADLY IF LEFT UNTREATED. ADDITIONALLY THERE WERE 35 DOGS THAT REQUIRED MAJOR MEDICAL TREATMENT IN 2021 INCLUDING FHO SURGERY CANCER AND ALLERGY TREATMENTS AS WELL AS OTHER MAJOR SURGERIES AND TREATMENTS. DOGS WHO FALL INTO ONE OF THESE PROGRAMS WERE CARED FOR BY BADASS ANIMAL RESCUE THROUGH OUR FOSTER PROGRAM WHERE SPECIALLY-TRAINED FOSTERS CARE FOR THESE DOGS THROUGH SURGERY AND PHYSICAL THERAPY.
