VISION: WE STRIVE TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY EDUCATED, EMPOWERED, CONNECTED AND NOURISHED BY PROVIDING AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS PHYSICALLY, SOCIALLY, VOCATIONALLY, INTELLECTUALLY AND EMOTIONALLY NURTURING AND EMPOWERING THROUGH NUTRITIOUS FOOD.

FOOD FOR HEALTH'S (FFH) MISSION IS TO PROMOTE A NUTRITION FOCUSED COMMUNITY BY EDUCATING TEENS AND SERVING THOSE STRUGGLING WITH A HEALTH CRISIS. FFH STRIVES TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY EDUCATED, EMPOWERED, CONNECTED AND NOURISHED BY PROVIDING AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS PHYSICALLY, SOCIALLY, VOCATIONALLY, INTELLECTUALLY AND EMOTIONALLY NURTURING AND EMPOWERING THROUGH NUTRITIOUS FOOD. TO DATE, OVER 80,000 MEALS HAVE BEEN SERVED FREE OF CHARGE TO INDIVDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY A HEALTH CRISIS. OUR HEALTHY MEALS PROGRAM PROVIDES FREE MEALS TO OUR CLIENTS FOR 12 WEEKS. OUR ORGANIZATION RELIES ON A STRONG NETWORK OF ADULTS AND LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TEENAGE VOLUNTEERS TO OPERATE OUR HEALTHY MEALS PROGRAM. EACH SEMESTER APPROXIMATELY 30-40 LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TEEN VOLUNTEERS ATTEND A NUTRITION EDUCATION PROGRAM AND THEN CONTINUE INTO OUR COMMERCIAL KITCHEN TO PREP, COOK AND PACKAGE THE NURIENT DENSE MEALS. ADULT MENTOR CHEFS AND KITCHEN VOLUNTEERS HELP IN PREPPING, COOKING AND PACKAGING THE MEALS, AS WELL AS OTHER KITCHEN RELATED TASKS. OUR DELIVERY VOLUNTEERS DROP OFF THE WEEKLY MEALS IN DISPOSABLE CONTAINERS TO THE HOMES OF OUR CLIENTS. OUR CLIENT LIAISONS FOLLOW UP WITH THE FAMILIES TO DISCUSS NUTRITION AND A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. EVERY WEEK, FFH PREPARES AND DELIVERS 4 ENTREES AND 2 SIDE DISHES, 1 SALAD, 2 SOUPS AND A DESSERT TO AN AVERAGE OF 75 INDIVIDUALS IN THE FOX VALLEY AREA. OUR NUTRITION FOCUSED MENU CHANGES ON A WEEKLY BASIS DURING THE 12-WEEK PERIOD.
