TO PROTECT REFUGEE RIGHTS WORLDWIDE BY BUILDING CAPACITY OF LOCAL PARTNERS IN KEY HOST COUNTRIES, ADVOCATING FOR INNOVATIVE RIGHTS-BASED REFUGEE ASSISTANCE POLICIES AND PROGRAMS, AND RAISING AWARENESS OF THE REFUGEE EXPERIENCE.

RSN'S WORK CONTRIBUTES TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF LONG-TERM CAPACITIES IN REFUGEE HOST COUNTRIES AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF HUMAN RIGHTS. TO THIS END, RSN SUPPORTS A LOCAL TURKISH NGO PARTNER IN THE OPERATION OF A LEGAL COMMUNITY CENTER IN ISTANBUL. THE CENTER OFFERS FREE LEGAL SERVICES TO REFUGEES IN TURKEY (INFORMATION, COUNSELING, AND REPRESENTATION) AND TRAINS AND DEVELOPS REFERENCE MATERIALS FOR TURKISH LAWYERS ON REFUGEE LAW. OVER FY 2021, THE CENTER PROVIDED LEGAL SERVICES TO ABOUT 2,500 REFUGEES AND TRAINED 330 LAWYERS AND NGO STAFF. RSN CONTINUES TO LEAD A COMPLEX MULTI-COUNTRY RESEARCH STUDY FORCUSED ON LEGAL PROTECTIONS AVAILABLE TO ROHINGYA REFUGEES IN ASIA. RSN ALSO ENGAGES IN POLICY ADVOCACY FORUMS AND PARTICIPATES IN AND ORGANIZES EVENTS AND DISCUSSIONS IN THE US ON REFUGEE ISSUES ABROAD TO RAISE COMMUNITY AWARENESS ABOUT SUCH ISSUES.
