THE LOGAN NONFICTION PROGRAM AT THE CAREY INSTITUTE SUPPORTS THE BELIEF THAT AN INFORMED, EDUCATED AND ENGAGED CITIZENRY IS ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTIONING OF THE DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY BY ADVANCING DEEPLY REPORTED, LONGFORM NONFICTION WORKS ABOUT THE MOST PRESSING ISSUES OF THE DAY AND THEN TO HELPING TO DISSEMINATE IT ON A VARIETY OF MEDIA PLATFORMS TO THE WIDEST POSSIBLE AUDIENCE. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED ACCESS TO AWARD WINNING PROFESSIONALS SUPPORTING THE WORK OF 30 WRITERS, DOCUMENTARIANS AND JOURNALISTS SELECTED FROM OVER 300 APPLICANTS TO PARTICIPATE IN TWO, 14-WEEK SESSIONS AS FELLOWS IN RESIDENCE ON CAMPUS AS WELL AS IN VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE.
OTHER PROGRAMS
CAREY INSTITUTE LAND CONSERVANCY PROJECT WAS ESTABLISHED TO PRESERVE THE CAMPUS PROPERTY, ITS HISTORY AND RURAL ROOTS. DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2022 THE PROJECT COMPLETED THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CONSERVATION EASEMENT IN FAVOR OF THE MOHAWK-HUDSON LAND CONSERVANCY.
