PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION/PREVENTION/EDUCATION AS WELL AS EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. MUTUAL AID SERVICES ARE ALSO OFFERED TO OTHER SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES IN THE BLACK HILLS.

ROCKERVILLE VFD WAS THE COORDINATOR FOR 17 VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN PENNINGTON COUNGY SD. THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AWARDED A GRANT TO THE COUNTY FOR REPLACEMENT OF EMERGENCY RADIOS AND PAGERS. EACH AGENCY PAID 10% OF THE COST OF THE RADIOS AND PAGERS FOR THEIR DEPARTMENT WITH THE GRANT PROVIDING THE REMAINDER OF THE COST TO THE VENDORS.


PROVIDING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WITH FIRE PROTECTION, PREVENTION, AND EDUCATION SERVICES THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES EMERGENCY MEDICAL SKILLS AND RESUE SKILLS TO THOSE IN NEED. THE DEPARTMENT ALSO OFFERS MUTUAL AID TO THE SURROUNDING VOLUNTEER AGENCIES WHEN THEY NEED ADDITIONAL RESOURCES.
