SEE SCHEDULE O STATEMENT 1 SINCE JULY 2012, LEARNING HELP CENTERS OF CHARLOTTE HAS PROVIDED SCHOLASTIC, SPIRITUAL AND SOCIAL SUPPORTS TO OUR COMMUNITY AND NEIGHBORS. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LIKE-MINDED NON-PROFITS, CHURCH AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND RESIDENTS, LHCC OFFERS FIVE PROGRAMS AT NO COST TO RESIDENTS. OUR GOAL IS TO ADVOCATE FOR, INVEST IN AND MOBILIZE RESOURCES TO BENEFIT AWESOME, YET VULNERABLE, CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.

LHCC COMMUNITY EVENTS, HEALTH, WELLNESS AND FEEDING PROJECTS AND FAMILY STABILIZATION ~ WE DEVELOP CUSTOM PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR THAT INCLUDE SOCCER CLINICS, SWIMMING, PAINTING/DRAWING AND HEALTHY EATING AND NUTRITION SESSIONS. EACH OF OUR LEARNING CENTERS IS CURRENTLY OFFERING REGULAR WEEKLY OR MONTHLY ACTIVITIES FOR BOTH CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS TO INTERACT IN AN ACTIVE, COMFORTABLE, SAFE AND FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT. PROJECTS IN 2022 OUR FIT HEALTH AND WELLNESS AND KINSHIP KITCHEN AND RELATED FOOD INSECURITY FEEDING AND TRAINING INITIATIVES TO PREPARE PARENTS FOR HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND WELLNESS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.
LHCC AFTERSCHOOL HOMEWORK READING AND LITERACY SUPPORT ~ LHCC PROVIDES WEEKLY AFTER-SCHOOL SUPPORT AND TUTORING FOR CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN AND OLDER, UTILIZING PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITY TITLE 1 SCHOOLS. OUR GOAL IS TO INSURE STUDENT SUCCESS AND CONFIDENCE, IMPROVE READING, WRITING AND MATH PROFICIENCY, ALONG WITH OVERALL SCHOOL GRADES. OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE COMMITTED TO BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE KIDS, ALONG WITH HELPING THEM ACADEMICALLY.
LHCC SUMMER ENRICHMENT CAMPS ~ CHILDREN'S SUMMER CAMPS FACILITATE READING AND ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS, SPORTS, ARTS AND CRAFTS, STEM, AND MUCH MORE. WE SERVED OVER 80 STUDENTS DURING OUR 2022 SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM.
