PROGRESO'S MISSION IS TO ENSURE THAT LATINO COMMUNITIES ARE FAIRLY REPRESENTED IN WASHINGTON STATES SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL SYSTEMS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL WASHINGTONIANS. WE BELIEVE THAT COMMUNITY-BASED SUPPORT, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, AND ADVOCACY ARE NEEDED TO ENSURE THAT THE NEEDS OF THE LATINO COMMUNITY ARE REPRESENTED IN DECISION MAKING AT THE STATE LEVEL.

FISCAL SPONSORSHIP: WA CENSUS ALLIANCE OVER 90 ORGANIZATIONS AND TRIBES, LED BY AND WORKING IN COMMUNITIES OF COLOR, CAME TOGETHER FROM ACROSS WASHINGTON STATE TO FORM WASHINGTON COMMUNITY ALLIANCE. WE ORGANIZE TO CLOSE THE REPRESENTATION GAP FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR IN ELECTED OFFICE, AND TO MAKE THE SYSTEMIC CHANGES WE NEED FOR BLACK AND BROWN COMMUNITIES TO SHARE IN THE PROSPERITY ALL OF US BUILD.
CIVIC ADVOCACY: PROGRESO WORKS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL WASHINGTONIANS THROUGH LEGISLATIVE ACTION. THROUGH COALITIONS, PARTNERSHIPS AND SUPPORT FROM THE COMMUNITY, PROGRESO SUPPORTS OR INTRODUCES BILLS TO THE LEGISLATURE TO ADVOCATE FOR COMMUNITIES THAT HISTORICALLY HELD LIMITED TO NO POLITICAL POWER.
