KIDSPLAY CURRENTLY OPERATES OVER 11,000 SF OF INTERACTIVE, HANDS-ON EXHIBITS DESIGNED TO ENGAGE CHILDREN AGES 1 10 IN CREATIVE LEARNING THROUGH PURPOSEFUL PLAY. KIDSPLAY PRESENTS LEARNING CONCEPTS IN WAYS THAT ARE MEANINGFUL AND ACCESSIBLE TO YOUNG CHILDREN.

WITHIN ITS EXHIBIT GALLERIES, KIDSPLAY PROVIDES EXPERIENCES THAT PREPARE CHILDREN TO THRIVE INTELLECTUALLY, SOCIALLY, AND EMOTIONALLY. THE MUSEUM OPERATES HANDS-ON EXHIBITS DESIGNED TO INSPIRE CHILDREN AND CAREGIVERS TO DISCOVER, IMAGINE, AND CREATE. THE MUSEUM IS A SAFE, CREATIVE AND STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT TO PRACTICE SKILLS, BUILD CURIOSITY AND EXPLORE THROUGH DEVELOPMENTAL PLAY. THROUGHOUT 2021, THE MUSEUM OPERATED AT A REDUCED CAPACITY USING VARIOUS STRATEGIES TO MEET PUBLIC HEALTH AND MISSION IMPACT GOALS.
KIDSPLAY OFFERS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES TO ENHANCE CHILDREN'S COGNITIVE AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL GROWTH. THE MUSEUM WORKS WITH MANY SUBJECT AREA EXPERTS AND PARTNERS TO DELIVER SCIENCE, HUMANITIES, AND ARTS CONTENT IN A WAY THAT IS MEANINGFUL TO CHILDREN. IN 2021, THE MUSEUM PILOTED KIDSPLAY DAY CAMP, AN ENRICHING, LANGUAGE-RICH, CREATIVE EXPERIENCE FOR CHILDREN AFFILIATED WITH A LOCAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS PROGRAM. THESE INITIATIVES STRENGTHENED THE BRIDGE BETWEEN THE PLAYFUL LEARNING AT THE MUSEUM AND ACADEMIC READINESS FOR THE CLASSROOM.
THE MUSEUM PROVIDES SPACE AND PROGRAM SUPPORT TO OTHER NON-PROFITS AND MISSIONALIGNED COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS AT LOWER THAN MARKET FEES. THESE INCLUDE DESIGNATED AREAS FOR A FAMILY RESOURCE LIBRARY, A LOCAL COSTUME SHOP FOR A PERFORMING ARTS THEATRE, AND A MEETING SPACE FOR A FRATERNAL ORGANIZATION. THE MUSEUM'S PROGRAM ROOM IS ALSO PARTIALLY USED FOR ADULT ESL AND PARENTING CLASSES.
