Part 3
THE MARKET PROVIDES A YEAR-ROUND, COVERED MARKETPLACE FOR VENDORS FROM AROUND THE REGION TO COME AND SELL PRODUCE, PROTEINS, VALUE-ADDED PRODUCTS AND ARTISAN CRAFTS. MORE THAN 100 YEAR-ROUND VENDORS, 40 COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND 30 DAY VENDORS UTILIZE THE FARMERS MARKET PAVILION AS A STOREFRONT FOR THEIR BUSINESS.
THE FOODIE PACK PROGRAM WAS CREATED AS A COMMUNITY AWARENESS PROGRAM TO PROVIDE BUSINESS WITH BAGS OF PRODUCE FROM LOCAL FARMERS AT THE FARMERS MARKET. PRODUCE WAS PURCHASED FROM VENDORS AT WHOLESALE AND THE MARKET STAFF CREATED BAGS BASED ON SEASONAL AVAILABILITY OF PRODUCTS AND RESOLD THE BAGS TO CUSTOMERS. THE MARKET USED THIS AS A CONSUMER AWARENESS PROMOTION OF HOW PURCHASING LOCALLY AT THE FARMERS MARKET IS FUN, EASY AND AFFORDABLE.
THE MARKET PUTS ON VARIOUS FARM TO TABLE DINNERS THAT FOCUS ON CONSUMER EDUCATION ABOUT THE MARKET, ITS VENDORS AND ITS MISSION. THESE DINNERS CAN BE HELD AT FARMERS MARKET VENDOR FARMS OR AT THE MARKET FACILITY AT FARMERS PARK.
