MEFI OPERATES AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN AGES 6 THROUGH 12 BASED ON THE MONTESSORI PRINCIPLES FOR LEARNING. MARIA MONTESSORI REFERRED TO HER ELEMENTARY PROGRAM AS "COSMIC EDUCATION" UNIFYING THE DISPARATE SUBJECTS INTO A UNIFIED WHOLE. COSMIC EDUCATION IS BROKEN DOWN INTO THE "FIVE GREAT LESSONS" WHICH ARE AN IMPORTANT AND UNIQUE PART OF THE MONTESSORI CURRICULUM. THESE LESSONS ARE BOLD, EXCITING, AND ARE DESIGNED TO AWAKEN A CHILD'S IMAGINATION AND CURIOSITY.
