TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF OREGONIANS BY EDUCATING ALL INTEREST PARTIES ABOUT GAMBLING AND PROBLEM GAMBLING, PROMOTING, RECOVERY, ADVOCATING TO STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ON BEHALF OF PROBLEM GAMBLERS AND THIER FAMILIES, AND INCREASING COMMUNITY AWARENESS OF PROBLEM GAMBLING.

PROVIDE PROBLEM GAMBLING RECOVERY MENTOR SERVICES: PERFORMED OUTREACH TO MULTNOMAH COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS AND COMMUNITY TO PROMOTE PROBLEM GAMBLING RECOVERY MENTOR SERVICES. CONTRACTED WITH TWO CERTIFIED GAMBLING PEER MENTORS TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 135 INDIVIDUALS SEEKING RECOVERY FROM PROBLEM GAMBLING. PROVIDED SUPERVISION, TRAINING AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO THE CONTRACTED PEER MENTORS AND TRAINED ABOUT 20 PEERS IN PROBLEM GAMBLING SKILLS.
BUILD COMMUNITY AND PROMOTE RECOVERY OF INDIVIDUALS WITH GAMBLING PROBLEMS. VPGR HOSTED MONTHLY MEETINGS AND 4 COMMUNITY FORUMS IN 2022. VPGR MEMBERS IN LONG-TERM RECOVERY, SERVED AS ROLE MODELS FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND IN DOING SO PROMOTED THE RECOVERY OF INDIVIDUALS.
VPGR SPEAKERS BUREAU: MAINTAINS AND SUPPORTS A SPEAKERS BUREAU OF PERSONS IN RECOVERY FROM GAMBLING RELATED PROBLEMS. VPGR SPEAKERS PARTICIPATED IN APPROXIMATELY 37 EVENTS INCLUDING CONFERENCES, TRAININGS PODCASTS AND PROVIDED PUBLIC TESTIMONY AT THE LEGISLATIVE LEVEL, REACHING SERVERAL THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. VPGR PRODUCES A PODCAST CALLED "VOICES: THE PODCAST AND RELEASED 4 NEW EPISODES IN 2022.
