THE ORGANIZATION HOLDS VARIOUS PROGRAM-RELATED EVENTS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION WHICH IS TO PROMOTE THE USE AND ENJOYMENT OF THE DOWNTOWN WHEELING AREA. A FEW OF THE EVENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: SHOW OF HANDS IS A COMMUNITY CROWD FUNDING EVENT IN WHICH DONATIONS ARE AWARDED TO THE HIGHEST VOTE RECEIVING PROJECT RELATED TO INCREASING DOWNTOWN UTILIZATION. FIRST FRIDAYS IS A MONTHLY EVENT THAT PROMOTES DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES AND EXPERIENCES BY PROVIDING A PLATFORM TO CREATE UNIQUE EVENTS AND SPECIALS. THE DOORS PROJECT IS A PUBLIC ART INSTALLATION AND PUBLIC SPACE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. THE PROJECT PROVIDES BETTER AESTHETICS AND USABILITY TO AN OTHERWISE VACANT LOT IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN. THE SPACE INTERPRETS HISTORIC PROPERTIES THROUGHOUT THE CITY WHILE PROVIDING A GATHERING SPACE AND A WELL-LIT WALKWAY TO THE RESDIDENTS AND VISITORS OF WHEELING. THE COMMUNITY IMAGE PROGRAM PROVIDES A COHESIVE BRAND FOR DOWNTOWN WHEELING. THIS BRAND IS USED TO PROVIDE CONTINUITY TO BANNERS, DISPLAYS, WAYFINDING SIGNS AND ORGANIZATIONAL AND PROGRAM LOGOS. A COHESIVE IMAGE THAT ARTICULATES THE ENERGY AND VIBRANCY OF DOWNTOWN WHEELING UNITES THE RESIDENTS AND CREATES A WELCOME AND LIVELY ENVIRONMENT TO VISITORS AND FURTHER SHOWS COMMUNITY PRIDE.
